Justin Timberlake talked about his DWI arrest while performing at the United Centre Stadium in Chicago. He told fans it had been a “tough week.”
Justin Timberlake talked about his drinking and driving arrest for the first time when he restarted his world tour.
The 43-year-old was arrested early Tuesday morning for driving while drunk. He ran a stop sign and was seen “swerving” after leaving the Sag Harbor hotel in New York, where he was with friends.
The 2017 Grammy Award Winner spoke to fans at the United Centre Stadium in Chicago, where he performed for his Forget Tomorrow World Tour. He told the crowd,
“It’s been a tough week.”
Justin said, “I know I’m hard to love sometimes, but you keep loving me right back.” He also told the crowd that everyone faces “ups-and-downs and lefts-and-rights.“
Friday’s concert was Justin’s first one since he was arrested in The Hamptons. He will perform next in New York for two nights at Madison Square Garden on June 25 and June 26.
After that, he will visit places like Boston, Baltimore, and Cleveland. The tour will end on December 20 in Kansas City. Justin’s lawyer also talked about the singer’s arrest for driving while drunk.
Edward Burke Jr., Justin’s lawyer, said he looks forward to defending Justin in court. Justin’s court date is set for July 26. His lawyer told TMZ, “We look forward to vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake against these allegations.”
“He will have a lot to say at the right time,” he added. “He is currently waiting for all the information from the DA’s office.” Justin’s court date on July 26 is the same day his European tour starts in Krakow, Poland.
A source told The New York Post that when Justin was arrested, he muttered, “This is going to ruin the tour.“The police officer who arrested him reportedly asked, “What tour?” not knowing who he was.
