Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson aka Deadpool
Ryan Reynolds is going to star in Deadpool 3. Although he has acted in various Marvel movies, such as Deadpool (2016) and X-Men Origins: Wolverine, his character in Deadpool 3 seems very promising and charged with action. He has also acted in previous Deadpool movies, like Deadpool (2016) and Deadpool 2 (2018), where he played Wade Wilson.
Hugh Jackman as Logan aka Wolverine
Hugh Jackman announced Jackman’s return as Wolverine in Deadpool & Wolverine. Jackman played Wolverine in eight films over seventeen years before retiring from the role in 2017’s Logan. There was speculation about Jackman returning for Avengers: Secret Wars, but his return in Deadpool 3 is more exciting. It will be the first time he’ll perform opposite Reynolds’ Deadpool on the big screen.
Morena Baccarin as Vanessa
It wasn’t certain if Morena Baccarin would return as Vanessa Carlysle in MCU’s Deadpool 3 after her character’s death in Deadpool 2. But in the post-credits scenes, Vanessa was revived with Cable’s time-travel tech. In April, it was confirmed that Baccarin would come back for Deadpool 3, but it’s unclear if she’ll stay in the franchise permanently.
Stefan Kapičić as Colossus
Stefan Kapičić will reprise his role as Colossus in Deadpool 3, a character he took over from Donald MacKinnon in previous X-Men films. Colossus is the third mutant confirmed for Deadpool 3, after Deadpool and Wolverine. This adds to the excitement of the X-Men joining the MCU, especially since Colossus is an active member. His mutations let him turn into metal, but the Deadpool movies haven’t shown his human form. His partner, Negasonic Teenage Warhead will also appear in Deadpool 3.
Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead
Brianna Hildebrand first appeared as Negasonic Teenage Warhead in 2016’s Deadpool. She’s a young X-Men member who can generate atomic blasts. It wasn’t clear if Hildebrand would return for Deadpool 3, but her casting was confirmed in May 2023. In the Deadpool movies, Deadpool and Negasonic Teenage Warhead have great chemistry. It’s exciting that this will continue in the upcoming Phase 5 film. Outside of Deadpool, Hildebrand is known for roles in Lucifer and The Exorcist series from 2017.
Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio
Shioli Kutsuna will return in Deadpool 3 after playing Yukio in Deadpool 2. Yukio is Negasonic Teenage Warhead’s girlfriend and an X-Man. She can control electricity. Rila Fukushima portrayed a different version of Yukio in The Wolverine. Kutsuna’s version is quite different. Before Deadpool 2, Kutsuna was in Japanese films. She also had roles in projects like The Outsider, Murder Mystery, and Invasion on AppleTV+.
Leslie Uggams as Blind Al
On March 29, 2023, Leslie Uggams was confirmed to return as Blind Al in Deadpool 3. Blind Al became Deadpool’s roommate and inspired his iconic red suit. Uggams brought some of the best jokes to the previous Deadpool films. It’s exciting to see her back in Deadpool 3. It’s unclear if this means she’ll join Deadpool in the MCU or if this is her last Marvel Universe appearance. She also appeared in Fallout Season 1 as Betty.
Karan Soni as Dopinder
Karan Soni will return as Dopinder in Deadpool 3. His role was confirmed on March 29, 2023. Dopinder is Deadpool’s favorite cab driver. In Deadpool 2, Dopinder wanted to be a hero like Deadpool, but he’s likely just for laughs in Deadpool 3. Soni has also voiced Pavitr Prabhakar, aka Spider-Man: India, in Sony’s animated Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. This animated feature film was also nominated for the 96th Academy Awards.
Rob Delaney as Peter
In May 2023, Rob Delaney was confirmed to return for Deadpool 3. He played Peter, a human member of Deadpool’s X-Force, in Deadpool 2. Peter originally died in the movie but was restored in the post-credits scenes. Delaney, a stand-up comedian, has acted in projects like The Hustle, Catastrophe, The School for Good and Evil, and The Man Who Fell to Earth. He also appeared as Mac in a recent episode of Black Mirror titled Joan Is Awful.
Emma Corrin Rumored To Be Playing Cassandra Nova
English actor Emma Corrin joined Deadpool 3 in a mystery role on February 14, 2023. Corrin will play the villain, but her character hasn’t been revealed yet. Corrin is known for roles like Marion Taylor in My Policeman and Princess Diana in The Crown, winning a Golden Globe and other nominations. Some think Corrin might be Lady Deadpool or the X-Men villain Danger. But the new trailers hint she might play Cassandra Nova, a classic X-Men villain.
Matthew Macfadyen as The TVA’s Mr. Paradox
Matthew Macfadyen joined the cast of Deadpool 3 on March 28, 2023, in a secret role. He became famous as Mr. Darcy in Pride & Prejudice in 2005. Macfadyen also starred in Death at a Funeral, Frost/Nixon, Spooks, and HBO’s Succession.
Macfadyen’s casting in Deadpool 3 and Corrin’s shows Marvel Studios focusing on new characters joining Deadpool’s adventure. It’s not just about saying goodbye to characters from Fox’s Deadpool films. Corrin and Macfadyen might have a bright future in the MCU. The trailer confirms Macfadyen will play Mr. Paradox, a character in the TVA who looks like Owen Wilson’s Mobius.
Lewis Tan as Shatterstar
The first trailer confirms that Lewis Tan reprises his role as Shatterstar in Deadpool & Wolverine. Shatterstar is seen at Wade Wilson’s birthday party, showing that Wade’s time travel in Deadpool 2 saved X-Force from dying. Tan is known for starring in Mortal Kombat as Cole Young, Shadow and Bone, and Into The Badlands.
Randall Reeder as Buck

Aaron Standford as Pyro
Aaron Stanford returns as Pyro in Deadpool & Wolverine, confirmed by the first trailer. Pyro is seen in a wastelands-type setting, possibly the MCU’s Void of the End of Time. He first appeared in Fox’s X2 and X-Men: The Last Stand, leaving Charles Xavier’s School for Magneto’s Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Stanford is also known for roles in 12 Monkeys, The Hills Have Eyes, and Nikita.
Rumored Cast of Deadpool 3
Patrick Stewart & Ian McKellen Have Teased Their Returns
Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen first appeared as Professor X and Magneto in 2000’s X-Men. They’ve played the mutants in several X-Men projects. Stewart retired from the role in Logan as Hugh Jackman did with Wolverine. Stewart returned as a variant of Professor X in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Stewart hinted at a reunion of Professor X and Magneto in Deadpool 3. He said he and McKellen are “not done” and “have plans.” Marvel Studios hasn’t confirmed their return, but it creates exciting possibilities. It could set the stage for a reunion of the entire X-Men team from Fox’s franchise. Stewart appeared as Professor X in Logan and Multiverse of Madness. McKellen hasn’t been seen as Magneto since X-Men: Days of Future Past in 2014, so it would be great to see him return for Deadpool 3.
