Kerry Washington returns as Paige Alexander in the series. Paige is a family therapist who reunites with her dad, Edwin, after he spent 17 years in prison. Along with managing her difficult father, Paige helps her teenage son, Finn, who struggles with anxiety.
In Season 2, Paige adjusts again as Edwin decides to move out at the end of Season 1. She also deals with her breakup with Mal.

2) Delroy Lindo as Edwin Alexander

Delroy Lindo returns as Edwin Alexander, Paige’s dad, in “UnPrisoned” Season 2. After spending 17 years in prison, he reconnects with Paige and tries to be a good grandfather to his teenage grandson, Finn.
In Season 1, Edwin moved in with Paige and Finn to avoid going back to his old friends involved in drugs. He also reunited with his old girlfriend, Nadine, and spent a lot of time with her. As an ex-convict, he struggled to find a job. Season 2 starts with Edwin in a new home, moving out of Paige and Finn’s place to start fresh.
Delroy Lindo is a well-known actor with an impressive career. He has starred in famous films like “Crooklyn,” “Malcolm X,” “Gone in 60 Seconds, and “Da 5 Blood.”
3) Marque Richardson as Mal

Marque Richardson plays Mal, Paige’s ex-boyfriend and Edwin’s parole officer in “UnPrisoned.” In Season 1, things were going well between Paige and Mal. They were even romantically involved. However, Paige cheated on Mal, which made him rethink their relationship and led to their breakup.
Richardson has appeared in “True Blood,” “Dear White People,” and “Antebellum.” He started his TV career with a guest role on “The Bernie Mac Show” as Tyrone, also known as “Lemon-Lyme.” In 2012, he appeared in the horror/comedy film “Detention.” He had notable roles in “True Blood” and “The Newsroom.” In 2014, he starred in the film “Dear White People,” which won a prize at Sundance.
4) Faly Rakotohavana as Finneas Alexander

Faly Rakotohavana is back as Finn, Paige’s son and Edwin’s grandson, in “UnPrisoned.” Finn struggles with anxiety and fitting in with other kids. He quickly forms a close bond with Edwin while Edwin is living with Paige. At one point, Finn even tries to help Edwin get a job at a church thrift store.
Faly Rakotohavana has also been in shows and movies like “Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn,” “Nightmare Cinema,” and “The Mick.”
5) Brenda Strong as Nadine

Brenda Strong stars as Nadine, Edwin’s girlfriend, who looks after Paige while Edwin is in prison. At first, Paige and Nadine didn’t get along. After Edwin exits prison, he and Nadine reconnect, creating problems for Paige. Eventually, Paige forgives Nadine, and they build a new friendship.
Fans of “Arrowverse” might know Strong as Lillian Luthor from “Supergirl.” She has also appeared in “Twin Peaks,” “Desperate Housewives,” and “13 Reasons Why.”
6) Jee Young Han as Esti Nelson

Jee Young Han plays Esti Nelson, Paige’s foster sister and a real estate agent. Esti gets along well with Paige and helps her manage life with Finn. Esti was adopted by Paige’s foster parents when she was four years old.
You might have seen Han in “Santa Clarita Diet,” “Sidetracked,” and “Perry Mason.”
7) Jamie Chung as Kiki

Jamie Chung joins the cast of Season 2 as Kiki, Paige’s college best friend who reconnects with her after 20 years. Kiki appears in Episode 4 of Season 2.
Paige apologizes to Kiki for leaving her after they kissed in college. Even though Kiki is married, she seems to have feelings for Paige still. Paige and Kiki end up sharing a close bond that helps Paige realize she is bisexual.
Chung is known for her roles as Blink in “The Gifted,” “Molly Park in “Dexter: New Blood,” and Valerie Vale in “Gotham.”
8) Brandee Evans as Ava

Brandee Evans joins “UnPrisoned” as Ava, Mal’s new girlfriend. Ava is a pole dancer and a law school graduate. Ava first appears in Season 2, Episode 3, where she meets Paige. Paige feels a bit intimidated by Ava’s looks and intelligence.
Evans is best known for playing Mercedes in “P-Valley.” She has also been in “The Fabulous Four,” and “Color Book.”
