After just finishing Season 6 part 2, I give Cobra Kai an enthusiastic 5 stars for sheer entertainment and fun. Seasons 5 and 6 may be the best single seasons of any series I have ever watched (and since retiring I have seen quite a few) in terms of enjoyment. It has been fun watching the entire cast, especially the kids taking karate, age and mature. Somehow all the older series cast members playing the same characters they played in the various Karate Kid movies made decades ago have become much better actors in their middle age today. Although not every season is all that good, Seasons 5 and 6 are outstanding and now has me waiting to see Season 6 Part 3 because all the pieces are in place to make it even better. Netflix has really stepped it up this past year with overall content quality of its own original productions, and a few more like this one should keep the company going for quite awhile. My reviews normally single out individual acting performances for praise (or the opposite) but everyone is so good in their roles now that they all deserve it. If you have not seen any prior season, start from the beginning. The half-hour episodes will fly by. If you stopped somewhere before finishing Season 4, catch up as quickly as you can and then get right into Season 5/6. It will be worth it. On a final note, for better and sometimes worse, this series overall is classic PG leaning towards G, with no content I can think of which is objectionable to families except for occasional karate violence.

THIS REVIEW HAS NO SPOILERS!!!: This show is a masterpiece, my all time favorite tv show and it adds spectacularly to the previous parts of the franchise. Cobra Kai isn’t your typical TV show, it has swarms of different genres throughout it including but not limited to drama, comedy and action. There are even some darker themes in this show! Season 1: I would explain season one of this show as a great opening for the seasons to come. We are introduced to new characters and continue our journey with characters you may know from previous movies in this fantastic franchise. The plot may be simple but it’s overall a great start to the series. Season 2: Ok, I consider this the best season so far as it proves that this is a teen show. The action is ramped up into overdrive, the plot becomes more enhanced and our characters receive even more development. The season finale will have you on the edge of your seat!!! Season 3: I will admit that season 3 has its ups and downs for me. There were multiple times where I started to get bored and I felt that certain plot points weren’t needed, BUT IGNORE EVERYTHING I JUST SAID BECAUSE OH MY GOD! This season has spectacular and even a few emotionally moving fight scenes. The characters are absolutely perfect in every way, each character with their own intricate personalities. The amount of callbacks to previous scenes are insane and it just enhances the story beyond belief Everyone needs to give this show a chance as it is one of the best tv shows of this generation due to its spectacular story, characters and action scenes.
