What Happened in House of the Dragon – Season 1?
House of the Dragon Season 1 ended with much bloodshed. Princess Rhaenys Targaryen (Emma D’Arcy) went to Dragonstone to tell Rhaenyra and Daemon that King Viserys had died and Aegon was crowned king by the Hightower-led Greens. Rhaenyra went into early labor and lost her daughter upon hearing the news. Daemon wanted immediate war, but Rhaenyra wanted to wait. Otto Hightower offered peace terms from Aegon, which Rhaenyra considered.
Meanwhile, the Targaryen-led Blacks sought support from other lords. Lord Corlys Velaryon, urged by his wife, pledged loyalty to Rhaenyra. Rhaenyra sent her sons, Jacaerys and Lucerys to gather support. At Storm’s End, Lucerys found Aemond and the dragon Vhagar. Aemond demanded Lucerys gouge his own eye but Lord Baratheon stopped them from fighting. When Lucerys left on his dragon Arrax, Aemond followed on Vhagar. After Arrax attacked, Vhagar killed both Arrax and Lucerys. Daemon told Rhaenyra, who then prepared for war, starting the Dance of the Dragons.
