It’s clear that Deadpool & Wolverine is a huge hit. The movie has made over $824 million worldwide in just one week and even passed The Passion of the Christ as the top-grossing R-rated film. With its success and excitement, people are curious about what will happen next for the two main characters. Marvel had been struggling at the box office recently, but this movie turned things around in its first week in theatres.

In a chat full of spoilers with Collider’s editor-in-chief, Steve Weintraub, Reynolds and Levy shared some hints about what might come next for the movie’s main characters. We should warn you that what they say might be surprising. Still excited about the huge success of the third Deadpool movie, Reynolds said:
“Shawn and I have been clear about this in the nicest way possible. It’s a great problem when a studio asks, ‘What’s next?’ or ‘What else can we do?’ But this movie was made to be a complete story on its own. It wasn’t meant to set up another movie or be anything like that. I really enjoy making movies like this. Right now, though, I don’t know if I’ll put on the Deadpool suit again — I hope I do, but I’m not sure. It’s time to take a break and see what happens next.”
Disney and Marvel Fully Back ‘Deadpool & Wolverine‘

Reynolds, Levy, and Hugh Jackman really pushed Disney with Deadpool & Wolverine. It’s the first time Marvel Studios has made an R-rated movie, which was a big deal during the movie’s promotion. Even though there might have been a lot of rules about what could and couldn’t be shown, Levy said that Marvel and Disney were very supportive and worked with them throughout the process. He also mentioned that they never felt rushed to start on another movie. He explained:
“Many people have asked if we were pushed to set up the next movie or connect it to the Avengers. Honestly, Disney and Marvel never asked us to do that. They only wanted us to make one great, complete story, and that’s exactly what we did with their help. As for what happens next, we’ll just have to wait and see.”
Deadpool & Wolverine is now showing in theatres. You can also watch the other Deadpool movies in order and stay tuned for more exciting news from the Marvel Universe.
