In most regions, Netflix still streams the show and adds new seasons each year – here’s when you can expect the latest seasons in your area.
Heartland has quietly become one of Netflix’s most consistent performers. Year after year, it pulls in massive viewership, boosted by the fact that the series is now entering its 19th season with more than 260 episodes available. Season 19 is set to premiere later this year, but the big question for fans is: when will the new seasons arrive on Netflix? Here’s the latest release schedule.
For newcomers, Heartland is a long-running family drama based in Alberta, Canada, centered on the Fleming-Bartlett family as they juggle life, love, and the demands of running a horse ranch. First airing in 2007, the show’s recent seasons feature Amber Marshall as Amy Fleming, Michelle Morgan as Lou Fleming Morris, Shaun Johnston as Jack Bartlett, Chris Potter as Tim Fleming, and Jessica Steen as Lisa Stillman, along with supporting roles from Kerry James, Baye McPherson, and Ruby and Emmanuella Spencer as Lyndy.
In terms of performance, Heartland has been a powerhouse on Netflix. According to Netflix Engagement Reports, the show’s seasons collectively racked up an impressive 695.2 million viewing hours worldwide between 2023 and mid-2025.

When will Heartland Seasons 18-19 join Netflix in the United States?
Netflix US recently faced a bit of a scare with Heartland. The series was set to leave the platform entirely in August 2025, but a last-minute agreement allowed it to remain, and season 17 was finally added in September.
From what we understand, Netflix has secured streaming rights for Heartland in the US for at least three more years, extending through 2028, though the company has declined to officially comment.
As for season 18, fans will need to be patient. Netflix doesn’t have first-run rights in the US—those belong to UP Faith & Family, which has held them for the past several years. Since season 18 wrapped up on that service this past summer, it likely won’t arrive on Netflix until mid-2026.
Looking ahead to season 19, if Netflix picks up the rights as expected, viewers probably won’t see it until 2027. While no release date has been confirmed, it’s expected to follow the same release pattern as previous seasons. A representative for UP Faith & Family stated:
All current seasons of Heartland (up to Season 18) are available to stream on UP Faith & Family! Please keep an eye on our social media pages for updates on when Season 19 will premiere on our service.
Typically, UP Faith & Family holds exclusive US rights for about a year before Netflix can stream new seasons, meaning season 19 would most likely land on Netflix around mid-2027.
When will season 19 of Heartland join Netflix in international territories?
In most countries outside the United States, viewers can now watch seasons 7 through 18, with the newest season arriving this past summer. These regions get new seasons the quickest, though you’ll still need to wait until after season 19 finishes airing on CBC.
Season 19 is scheduled for 10 episodes, premiering on October 5, 2025, and running through December. Since it’s returning to its usual slot, we expect it to be added to Netflix in international regions such as the United Kingdom, Australia, Latin America, Asia, and India.
The main exception is Netflix Canada, where new seasons take much longer to arrive. Currently, Canadian subscribers only have access to seasons 8 through 15.
