Red Hulk is set to play a big role in the MCU. Harrison Ford will take on the role of Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, debuting as Red Hulk in Captain America: Brave New World, which will be Anthony Mackie’s first movie as Captain America.
After William Hurt’s passing, Harrison Ford took over the role. He’s already shown in promotional materials for the movie, revealing his transformation into the Red Hulk.
Variety recently shared that Harrison Ford would return as Red Hulk in the upcoming Thunderbolts movie, surprising and exciting fans. But industry insider Daniel Richtman, known for being reliable, disagrees, saying Red Hulk won’t be in the film at all.
Why does this matter? Even though Variety is usually a trusted source, it seems more likely that Richtman is correct this time. It looks like Variety might have made a mistake.
Variety’s claims come from an older article by THR when Ford’s casting was first announced. Back then, it made sense to think that Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross would have a big role in Thunderbolts because of the team’s name and his link to it.
However, recent updates show that the Thunderbolts team won’t be named after Ross but after Yelena and Natasha’s childhood football team. This change has confused many fans, who still expect Ross to help recruit the team.
It seems that Valentina Allegra de Fontaine will recruit the Thunderbolts for other reasons. Since the movie is already packed with characters, it’s doubtful that Red Hulk will show up.
