“It’s nothing like the U.S. version—so much better!” another fan commented. Many thanked the reality TV enthusiast for adding to their watchlist and reigniting their love for Married At First Sight. “Omg, thank you! Despite the growing excitement among American viewers, the Aussie reality show is still not available to watch in the U.S.
In 2022, Married At First Sight Australia was abruptly dropped by its U.S. broadcast partner, leaving loyal American fans stunned. At the time, reports indicated that around 300,000 Americans tuned in weekly to watch MAFS on cable channel Lifetime, which had acquired the rights to the Channel Nine series in 2020 and also aired the U.S. version.

However, when viewers attempted to watch the ninth season, they were surprised to find a different program in MAFS’ usual time slot. No official explanation was given for its removal from the main channel. A post on Lifetime’s Instagram later informed fans that they could still watch the series on the network’s streaming app.

The decision was puzzling, especially since Married At First Sight Australia was performing well in its Wednesday 10/9c time slot.
Frustrated fans took to social media to voice their complaints, with some accusing Lifetime of using “shady” tactics to push viewers toward its streaming app. Others claimed MAFS Australia was the only reason they watched Lifetime and vowed to stop tuning in altogether.
Above all, viewers were most upset that their favorite reality show had been pulled midway through the season.
