Netflix shared news about “Troll 2” at an event in Hollywood called Tudum Theater, along with other exciting projects like Japan’s action-packed “Bullet Train Explosion,” Korea’s assassin story “Mantis,” and a documentary about soccer star Vinicius Jr. “Troll 2” is now officially in the works!
While the plot is still a secret, the original director, Roar Uthaug, and writer Espen Aukan are back. Actors like Sara Khorami and Jon Ketil Johnsen will also star. The movie will be released in 2025, and fans can’t wait to see what this monstrous sequel will bring!

The movie stars renowned Norwegian actress Ine Marie Wilmann alongside Mads Sjøgård Pettersen, Kim Falck, Gard B. Eidsvold, and others. Troll was a big success, earning a 90% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

During an interview with What’s on Netflix, Producer Kristian Strand Sinkerud hinted at exciting things for the sequel. With the first film’s success and deep ties to Norwegian folklore, fans eagerly await what’s next in this monstrous saga.
As filmmakers, you always have ambitions to make something that can last a little longer than one film. Of course, we have ambitions to make a sequel and perhaps two sequels, but it all depends on how the audience are responding to Troll.
