Amazon MGM Studios is gearing up for one of the most exciting TV casting searches this fall. They’ve compiled a list of talented young actors to play Lara Croft in Tomb Raider, an upcoming Prime Video series based on the popular video game. This high-profile adaptation, created by Emmy-winning Fleabag writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge, has fans eagerly awaiting its lead star.
Sources tell Deadline that Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones) and Lucy Boynton (Bohemian Rhapsody) are set to audition for the role of Lara Croft, a part previously brought to life on the big screen by Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander.
The full list of actors testing for the famous role of Lara Croft remains a mystery, as Amazon MGM Studios is keeping it secret. While Turner and Boynton are in the running, other rumored names like Emma Corrin and Mackenzie Davis are not expected to audition. Amazon MGM Studios has chosen not to comment on the casting.

Lara Croft has become a highly sought-after role for actresses in their late 20s and 30s. With one of pop culture’s most famous action heroines and the talented TV creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge behind the series, actors are eager for a chance to play this iconic character.
Amazon MGM Studios Head Jennifer Salke called Tomb Raider “epic” and “globe-trotting” when she announced the series order in May. For writer and executive producer Phoebe Waller-Bridge, this project has been close to her heart, and she spoke warmly about Lara Croft when the show was approved.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Jenny Robins are executive producers of Tomb Raider through Wells Street Productions. Dmitri M. Johnson from dj2 Entertainment, Michael Scheel, Legendary Television, and Crystal Dynamics also hold executive producer roles. Greenblatt and Andolina are consulting producers under their Star Party banner. The series is a collaboration between Crystal Dynamics and Amazon MGM Studios.
Sophie Turner, an Emmy nominee for her breakout role as Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones, currently stars in the British crime drama Joan. Next, she’ll appear in another British series, Haven, for Prime Video—the same platform hosting the Tomb Raider series.
Lucy Boynton, known for her roles in Bohemian Rhapsody and Murder on the Orient Express, recently starred in Searchlight’s The Greatest Hits. Next, she will play the lead role in the British historical miniseries A Cruel Love: The Ruth Ellis Story.
