The Traitors Ireland has finally hit our screens, and it looks like we’re in for an amazing series.
Fans were introduced to the Irish contestants and saw Siobhan McSweeney lead them through the first challenge, as well as choose her first Traitors of the season. With all the buzz around the show, online reactions show it’s already a hit, and the viewing figures are impressive. An RTÉ spokesperson told Geek Ireland that 600,000 people watched the first episode on RTÉ One and RTÉ One+1, which means 46% of RTÉ One’s available audience tuned in.
On top of that, the first episode has 139,000 streams on RTÉ Player so far, likely from people catching up after Electric Picnic.

Twenty-four hopefuls arrived at Slane Castle, waiting to find out if they would be a Faithful or a Traitor in the Irish version of the hit series, which already has UK, US, and Dutch versions. The show follows contestants trying to figure out who the Traitors are, and the number of Traitors can change each season.

If any Traitors are left by the end, they take the prize. If all Traitors are caught, the remaining Faithful share the money.
The Irish contestants will compete for a prize of up to €50,000!
