Another original cast member from Sacred Heart Hospital is excited to put on her scrubs again and return to work. Judy Reyes recently told TV Insider that she would love to play her old character, Carla Espinosa, from the nine-season sitcom Scrubs. The show, which aired on ABC, has been in the news again because Zach Braff is coming back. Now, with what Reyes just said, it looks like the cast reunion is getting closer. When asked if she would return, the High Potential actress happily answered, “Sure!”
I would love to know what Carla’s doing 25 years later. Are she and Turk (Donald Faison) still married? Did JD steal him from Carla? Are their kids grown? Do they have more kids? All that kind of stuff. I’m interested in knowing. The possibilities are endless.
In case you forgot, Reyes played Carla, the tough and smart head nurse at Sacred Heart. She was also part of one of the best TV couples ever. Carla and Turk, played by Faison, were loved by fans.
Reyes thinks people liked them so much because they felt “so real,” and she added,
They’ve always been so real. The romance comes in their wit, in their sense of humor, in their fights, in their endurance, and in their ability to stay together. I love that about them.
Besides Braff coming back and Reyes really wanting to join, the new Scrubs show is slowly starting to happen.
The creator of the show, Bill Lawrence, is already lending a hand, which is a really good sign.

Not long ago, he shared some fun news and talked about what the team is working on right now, saying,
We’re in the process of, the cool thing, putting the writers together. And it’s the best thing in the world to see that some of the most talented writers in the world wrote on that show, and they’re all still friends, and my friends. And so [we] have a combination of the old and new. We’re just starting to build it right now. And I expect it to make an appearance very soon.
As for Reyes, she’s been back on TV in shows like The Horror of Dolores Roach and Dr. Death. But she’s really standing out on ABC’s new hit show High Potential, where she stars with Kaitlin Olson and Daniel Sunjata.
