“The Penguin” kept growing in viewership, with even more people tuning in for the finale on Sunday night.
The first season of “The Penguin” ended with its highest viewership yet. According to Warner Bros. Discovery’s data, the finale attracted 2.1 million viewers on HBO and Max on Sunday, setting a new record for this “Batman” spinoff series.
The finale of “The Penguin” saw a 50% increase in viewership compared to the series premiere on September 19. The premiere had 1.4 million viewers across platforms on its first Thursday before the show switched to its usual Sunday night slot.

The “Batman” spinoff series has become the third most-watched HBO show worldwide, behind “House of the Dragon” and “The Last of Us.” Its premiere episode drew 17 million viewers in the U.S. The show stars Colin Farrell, Cristin Milioti, Rhenzy Feliz, Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo, and Deirdre O’Connell, with Clancy Brown and Michael Zegen in recurring roles.
This week, “The Penguin” had its best single-day viewership on Max in the U.S., making it the show’s most-watched week in the country and worldwide. It was also popular on social media, trending at No. 1 on X for three hours and seeing a 330% increase in online mentions compared to the previous week.
Episode 7 of “The Penguin” brought in 1.9 million viewers across platforms last week, setting a new record for premiere-night viewership. This was a rise from Episode 5’s 1.8 million viewers. The second half of the season continued to grow, with Episode 4 reaching 1.7 million viewers, a 21.43% increase from the series premiere. Episode 4 also surpassed Episode 2, which had 1.6 million viewers across platforms.
