HBO’s spinoff of “The Batman” premiered to an impressive 13 million viewers.
Viewership for “The Penguin” keeps growing. Based on Warner Bros. Discovery’s data, episode 4 attracted 1.7 million viewers across Max and HBO in the U.S.
This is a 21.43% increase from the Sept. 19 series premiere, which had 1.4 million viewers. After the first episode, the show moved to its regular Sunday night slot. Episode 4 also had more viewers than Episode 2, which reached 1.6 million viewers.

The fourth episode of “The Penguin,” featuring a key moment for Cristin Milioti’s character Sofia, attracted strong viewership. It held its own against tough competition from NFL Sunday Night Football and the MLB National League Championship Series.

In less than a month, the first episode of “The Penguin” has reached 13 million viewers in the U.S., up from 10.4 million after 11 days. After its debut on Thursday, Sept. 19, the show gathered 5.3 million viewers over its opening weekend, from Thursday to Sunday, Sept. 22.

Episode 4 of “The Penguin” shifted focus from Oz (Colin Farrell) to Sofia, explaining how she ended up in Arkham and how her time there changed her.
It was exciting. The scenes were intense, but wearing the Arkham uniform and showing Sofia’s transformation was amazing. We talked a lot about how to show the different stages of her struggle, how she faces challenges, and the moment she finally loses control.

Along with Colin Farrell and Cristin Milioti, “The Penguin” features Rhenzy Feliz, Michael Kelly, Shohreh Aghdashloo, and Deirdre O’Connell. Clancy Brown and Michael Zegen also have recurring roles.
Episodes 1-4 of “The Penguin” are now available on Max. New episodes come out every Sunday on HBO and Max.
