The Rotten Tomatoes score for The Crow, the newest version of the comic book by James O’Barr, has been announced. Bill Skarsgård and FKA twigs star in this film, which Rupert Sanders directed.
After the review embargo ended, The Crow landed on Rotten Tomatoes with a very low score of 6%. This score might change a bit as more reviews come in, but it’s unlikely to get much higher. The original 1994 version of The Crow had a much better score, with 86% from critics and 90% from audiences. We don’t have an audience score yet for the new movie, but it might end up being higher since sometimes critics and viewers have different opinions.

The new The Crow film doesn’t have a great score, but it’s not the lowest in the series. It’s still better than some previous films. After the original 1994 movie, the other films had low scores: The Crow: City of Angels got 14%, The Crow: Salvation got 18%, and The Crow: Wicked Prayer got 0%. Even though the 2024 film has mostly negative reviews, it has a few positive ones, which means it’s doing better than Wicked Prayer.
Critics Are Not Being Kind on 2024’s The Crow

Tim Grierson from Screen International said,
“The original movie with Brandon Lee is hard to forget because of his tragic death. This new version doesn’t honor him or offer anything special on its own.”
David Rooney from The Hollywood Reporter added,
“The new The Crow is slow and too serious, and it never really takes off.”
Directed by Rupert Sanders, The Crow was written by Zach Baylin and William Schneider. It stars Bill Skarsgård, FKA twigs, Danny Huston, Josette Simon, Laura Birn, and Sami Bouajila.
The movie’s story is about Eric (Skarsgård) and Shelly (FKA twigs), who are soulmates. They are killed by people from Shelly’s dark past. Eric gets a chance to bring Shelly back by sacrificing himself. He goes on a quest for revenge, moving between the living world and the afterlife to set things right.
The Crow is now streaming in theatres.
