The Boys Season 4 finale is out now, but it has a warning after someone tried to harm Donald Trump over the weekend.
When the episode was released at midnight on July 18, Amazon Prime Video explained that any likeness between the show’s story and the events in Pennsylvania is just a coincidence.
“The season finale of The Boys has scenes of made-up political violence. Some viewers might find these scenes upsetting, especially after the recent attack on former President Trump that led to injuries and a tragic loss of life.”
Amazon said
“The Boys is a made-up show filmed in 2023. Any similarities between the show’s scenes and real events are just a coincidence. Amazon, Sony Pictures Television, and the producers of The Boys strongly reject any kind of real-world violence.”

They also changed the title of the episode after the attack on Trump, where the former U.S. president said a bullet hit his ear and injured him.
The episode was first called Assassination Run, but now it’s just called Season Four Finale. Amazon also adds a warning at the beginning, saying “viewer discretion advised.”
The Boys, created by Eric Kripke and based on a graphic novel, is one of Amazon’s biggest hits. Season 4 keeps mixing in political events that remind people of real life.
Earlier this week, Channel 4 stopped showing an episode of The Simpsons after the assassination attempt on Trump. The episode, called “Lisa the Iconoclast,” was supposed to air at 1 pm on Sunday (14 July), the day after the attack. Instead, the network replaced it with a different episode from a later season.
Daily Show host Jon Stewart also had to cancel his plans to broadcast from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where the Republican National Convention is happening, because of the incident.
“We avoided a disaster, but it was still a sad event,”
the late-night host said, honoring Comperatore
Meanwhile, Tim Robbins spoke out against conspiracy theories comparing the incident to his movie Bob Roberts.
Tim Robbins, known for The Shawshank Redemption, made and starred in the 1992 political drama Bob Roberts. The movie is about a conservative politician running for a US Senate seat in Pennsylvania who fakes an attack on himself to gain more support.
Writing on X/Twitter, Robbins addressed the speculation. He said, “To anyone comparing my film Bob Roberts with the attempted assassination of Trump, let’s be clear. What happened yesterday was a real attempt on a presidential candidate”
