Lee Jung-jae, who played Master Sol in Disney+’s The Acolyte, recently shared his thoughts on the show being canceled after just one season.
In an interview with EW, he mentioned that he was looking forward to a second season and felt both disappointed and surprised when he found out the show wouldn’t continue.
“My character had already died in the first season,” Lee explained, “so I wouldn’t have been in the second season even if it had happened. But I really admired Leslye Headland’s work. She’s a talented writer and director who did a great job with storytelling and creating interesting characters. I was really excited to see what she would have done with a second season.”
Lee isn’t giving up on the possibility of more The Acolyte episodes. He said,
“Honestly, I’m hoping things might change in the future. You never know what could happen. Personally, I really wish we could see the stories Leslye had planned for the second season.”
On Monday, August 19, news broke that Lucasfilm decided not to continue with a second season. This decision came more than a month after the eight-episode first season, created and directed by Leslye Headland, finished its run on Disney+.
