Taylor Swift‘s collaborator Jack Antonoff has been accused of insulting Billie Eilish, continuing their alleged feud.
The 40-year-old Bleachers frontman appeared today on Thursday to discuss his band’s new self-titled album. However, one comment he made caught fans’ attention weeks after Taylor was accused of sabotaging younger rivals.
On the morning talk show, Jack was asked about his songwriting process. He explained that he writes music about things that affect him emotionally rather than something simple like a meal.
At first, Jack’s comment might have seemed harmless, but fans of the 22-year-old Grammy winner thought he was taking a subtle jab at her because her latest single is called “Lunch.” The song was the first single from her third album, strike Me And Soft, released in May.
One of Billie’s fans posted a video of the clip on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption: “Jack Antonoff’s 40-year-old self-shading Billie? What a weirdo.”
Others didn’t think Jack was shading Billie. One user on X wrote, “Why are people saying he’s shading Billie? ‘Lunch’ isn’t really about having lunch. You all are so slow!”
This happened during months of tension between Billie and Taylor’s fans over an alleged feud.
Last month, Billie was accused of shading Taylor as they battled for the top spot on the Billboard album chart with their new releases.

Even though the two stars have praised each other publicly, some social media users think they are feuding. This belief grew stronger after Billie’s recent interview, during which she called three-hour concerts “psychotic.” While on Stationhead, Billie criticized musicians who put on super long shows.
In her March interview with Billboard, Billie criticized artists for releasing multiple vinyl versions of albums to boost sales.
“For some reason, it’s essential to some artists to make all sorts of different vinyl and packaging,” she said. “It increases sales and numbers, getting them more money. I can’t even express how wasteful it is.”
She added, “As someone who tries to be sustainable, I find it frustrating.”
Ironically, Billie’s latest album, Happier Than Ever, was available in eight vinyl versions.
However, according to Billboard, these variants were made from “100% recycled black vinyl, recycled scraps for coloured variants, and shrink-wrap made from sugar cane.”
Billie said she finds it “so wasteful” and “irritating” to see “all your favourite artists doing that,” prioritizing sales and money above everything else.

Besides Swift, many famous artists, like Travis Scott, Olivia Rodrigo, and Blink-182, have also released multiple vinyl versions of their albums. Billie tried to clear things up by posting a statement on her Instagram Story with a link to the Billboard article, saying she didn’t single out Taylor or anyone else.
“It would be awesome if people stopped putting words in my mouth and read the Billboard article,” Billie wrote. “I wasn’t singling anyone out; these are industry-wide issues.”
Swift hasn’t publicly commented on Eilish’s remarks but has supported her career. At Billboard’s 2019 Women In Music event, Swift gave Eilish the Woman of the Year Award and recalled predicting someone like her would win someday.
Swift shared that Eilish, who started with piano lessons and choir, won the award at 17. Eilish thanked Swift for her kind words and for helping female artists in the music industry.
Despite their public exchanges, both artists have shown they admire each other. Eilish once praised Swift in an interview, calling her an “untouchable superstar.” Fans are divided on whether Antonoff and Eilish’s comments were direct criticisms.
