The Suits universe is back with the premiere of its spinoff, Suits: LA. Unlike the smooth beginnings of the 2011 original, this West Coast-based series starts with a major betrayal between key characters. Fans are introduced to a fresh cast, led by Stephen Amell as Ted Black. His early clash with Josh McDermitt’s Stuart Lane could push him to seek help from New York’s legal elite. Enter Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht).
One of the biggest highlights of Suits: LA Season 1 is Gabriel Macht’s return as Harvey Specter. He will appear in a three-episode arc, helping his friend Ted Black rescue his firm. The spinoff, created by Aaron Korsh, won’t stop there—Korsh has confirmed that Harvey won’t be the only familiar face making a comeback. Speaking to TVLine, Korsh hinted that more characters from the original Suits series will appear.
Harvey is not the only Suits original character that we’re going to see this season, There will be at least one other original Suits character. I’m not going to say at what level.
he revealed
Korsh also emphasized that returning characters will be introduced naturally rather than overwhelming the series with cameos. He explained that he wants other potential returnees to “pop up, as organically as possible, and not flood the show with a parade of old Suits characters.”

The original Suits drama debuted in 2011 and concluded its run in 2019. While Gabriel Macht’s portrayal of Harvey Specter was a standout, the series also featured outstanding performances from Gina Torres as Jessica Pearson, Patrick J. Adams as Mike Ross, and Sarah Rafferty as Donna Paulsen, among others. Throughout the show’s run, these characters brought compelling and engaging storylines, and Aaron Korsh is confident that fans are eager for more. He adds:
I know that’s what fans want, but I feel like if it’s just a parade of old Suits characters, it would sort of harm the new franchise, and I don’t think it would do a lot of favors to the old franchise either.

The original series has plenty of familiar faces that fans would love to see return in the spinoff. When developing Suits: LA, Aaron Korsh revealed that bringing Harvey Specter back “made the most sense” for the story he wanted to tell.
The network very much wanted one original member, If you watch, you’ll see that from a story standpoint, Harvey made the most sense. I originally wrote this as its own thing, not a Suits spinoff, so I’m not sure what that says about how I look at either one.
