Disney and Lucasfilm have announced that a third season of their popular animated anthology series is officially happening.
Disney and Lucasfilm have shared exciting news: the animated series Star Wars: Visions is getting a third season in 2025. They announced this during Disney’s big two-day Content Showcase event in Singapore.
The third season, or volume, will feature 9 new animated episodes created by top animation studios in Japan. These studios include David Production, Kamikaze Douga + ANIMA, Kinema Citrus, Polygon Pictures, Production I.G, Project Studio Q, TRIGGER, and WIT Studio.
When Star Wars: Visions first came out in 2021, it was a fresh and creative idea from Lucasfilm. Instead of sticking to the main Star Wars storyline, they let Japanese animation studios make their own unique short stories using different animation styles. This freedom led to amazing and imaginative versions of the Star Wars universe, which fans and critics loved.
The first season of Star Wars: Visions came out on Disney+ in September 2021. It had 9 episodes made by talented Japanese animation studios like Kamikaze Douga, Studio Colorido, Geno Studio, Trigger, Kinema Citrus, Production I.G., and Science Saru.
The first season was a big hit, with critics loving it. It got a 98% score on Rotten Tomatoes and 81% on Metacritic.

Just like the first season, it was a huge success, earning a perfect 100% on Rotten Tomatoes and 88% on Metacritic.
