Manny Jacinto, the star of Star Wars: The Acolyte, along with roles in The Good Place, Freaky Friday, Top Gun: Maverick, and Bad Times at the El Royale, will receive a special honor at the upcoming Canadian Screen Awards.
The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television announced on Wednesday that Jacinto will be awarded the Radius Award for his global success.

Other notable award recipients include Ellis Jacob, the President and CEO of Cineplex, who will receive the Academy Board of Directors’ Tribute Award, along with veteran producer Denise Robert, known for her work on director Denys Arcand’s films.

Ahead of the Canadian Screen Awards, which will take place from May 30 to June 1 in Toronto, the Canadian Academy announced that The Porter executive producer and writer Marsha Greene will receive the Changemaker Award, while the long-running CBC comedy series This Hour Has 22 Minutes will be honored with the Sustainable Production Award.
The Canadian Academy has yet to reveal this year’s national film and TV awards format. However, in recent years, the event has concluded with a televised special on CBC.
This year’s Special Award recipients have left an enduring impact on both the big and small screens, shaping Canadian storytelling with their creativity, innovation, and commitment. These honorees represent the incredible talent and strength of our homegrown creative community, and we are excited to celebrate their achievements at the 2025 Canadian Screen Awards.
