The Star Wars Mandalorian & Grogu movie has added Jeremy Allen White, known from “The Bear,” to play Jabba the Hutt’s son, Rotta the Hutt. This is a significant role, not just a small appearance.
Jabba the Hutt, the big, slug-like crime boss, has no human sons, so this is new. Most likely, White will provide the voice for the character. Jabba’s relatives, like Rotta, have appeared in Star Wars stories, including the “Book of Boba Fett” and the movie “The Phantom Menace.”

Jeremy joins the cast with Pedro Pascal, who plays Mando, and Sigourney Weaver, known for her role in “Ghostbusters.” The movie, directed by Jon Favreau and co-written with Dave Filoni, is set to hit theatres on May 22, 2026.
At D23 in August, Favreau and Filoni shared some footage from the movie at the Honda Center in Anaheim. The clips showed Babu Frick coming back, along with a snowy planet that looked a lot like Hoth from the 1980 movie The Empire Strikes Back.

It even had giant four-legged AT-AT machines stomping around—those armoured vehicles the bad guys use. The movie also includes Zeb, the red alien with pointy ears from the animated show Star Wars: Rebels.
