People around the world are tuning in to catch up on South Park after its Season 27 premiere in July. The long-running adult animated show, created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, is currently topping streaming charts globally.
According to FlixPatrol, as of August 3, South Park is the No. 1 TV show on Paramount+ worldwide, outperforming titles like Tom Hardy’s MobLand and Kevin Costner’s Yellowstone, which sit at No. 2 and No. 3.
The show’s streaming popularity comes just as it’s being removed from one of its platforms. On August 5, South Park will leave HBO Max due to a new exclusive streaming deal with Paramount+. For U.S. viewers, Paramount+ will be the only platform to watch both old and new episodes.
Back in July, Parker and Stone signed a $1.5 billion, five-year deal with Paramount+. Under this agreement, Paramount+ gets exclusive streaming rights to all 26 previous seasons, special episodes, and at least 50 new episodes over five seasons.
Season 27 kicked off on July 23 with a wild premiere that saw the return of both Jesus (voiced by Stone) and Satan, who now has a new boyfriend—President Donald Trump. Long-time fans might remember Satan’s earlier relationship with Saddam Hussein in the 1999 South Park movie.
The episode, titled “Sermon on the ‘Mount,” ended with a bizarre twist: a naked, AI-deepfaked Trump walking through a desert, complete with an animated, talking penis.
South Park Creators Reveal One Censorship Request Comedy Central Made

After the season premiere, creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone appeared at San Diego Comic-Con, where they shared how Comedy Central nearly stopped them from airing the episode’s final scene. The network reportedly requested that Trump’s genitals be blurred.
“It’s always like, ‘so we love the episode,’ but that’s what happened. They’re like, ‘OK, but we’re gonna blur the penis.’ And I’m like, ‘No, you’re not gonna blur the penis,’” Parker explained. Stone chimed in, “We put eyes on the penis.”
Parker added, “If we put eyes on the penis, we won’t blur it. And then that was a whole conversation for about four f**king days. It’s a character.”
The White House, however, wasn’t amused. Assistant Press Secretary Taylor Rogers responded after the episode aired, saying, “This show hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention. President Trump has delivered on more promises in just six months than any other president in our country’s history — and no fourth-rate show can derail President Trump’s hot streak.”
South Park is known for mocking all sides of politics, celebrities, and cultural issues. The next episode, airing August 6, is expected to target conservative activist and vocal Trump supporter Charlie Kirk.
The show is available to stream on Paramount+, you can also watch new season of South Park on 10Play for free.
