The American rapper has given some amazing commentary as a special NBC reporter for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Snoop Dogg has become a big star at the Paris 2024 Olympics, and it’s easy to see why. The famous rapper has made people laugh with his funny commentary, like wearing equestrian gear for the dressage event and trading pins with Team USA.
Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., has been working for NBC as a special reporter for the Olympics. It looks like he’s also been paid a lot for his popular appearances.
Henry L. McNamara, a venture capitalist from New York named to Forbes’ 30-Under-30 list, recently posted on X (formerly Twitter) about Snoop Dogg’s reported earnings for the Olympics. On August 4, McNamara wrote, “I had dinner with an NBC executive who said Snoop Dogg gets $500,000 a day plus expenses to promote the Olympics.”
“From singing ‘Gin and Juice’ to making millions as a celebrity at the Olympics—what a world,” he added.
The Grammy-nominated artist arrived in Paris before the Olympic opening ceremony on Friday, July 26. He will provide NBC commentary until the Olympics end on Sunday, August 11. According to McNamara, Snoop Dogg is expected to earn an amazing $8 million for the entire 16-day event.
Even though the amount is surprising, many fans think Snoop Dogg’s paycheck is well-earned because of the unforgettable moments he’s given during this year’s games.
Snoop Dogg went viral on Saturday when he went to the equestrian dressage event with his close friend and business partner Martha Stewart. They both wore full equestrian outfits, including riding helmets, jackets, white pants, and matching sunglasses. Martha Stewart told Today that Snoop asked her to join him at the event because he’s scared of horses.
“Snoop called me because he knows I love horses,” the 83-year-old cookbook author said. “He’s a bit afraid of horses.”

The “Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper had everyone laughing when he got a private tour of the Louvre museum. In a video posted to Instagram last week, Snoop Dogg wore full Team USA gear and sunglasses while exploring the Paris museum.
He started the video by saying, “You ever seen Night at the Museum?” He added, “Well, tonight you get to go in the museum with Snoop Dogg, and we’re gonna be snooping around.”
Snoop Dogg got a special tour of the Louvre from one of the museum’s guides. He made funny comments as he looked at famous artworks like Leonardo Da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa” and the “Winged Victory of Samothrace” sculpture.
“I just found out I’m Mona Lisa’s twin brother, Tony Lisa,” Snoop Dogg joked to the camera.
