Rebecca Ferguson has played unforgettable roles like the Reverend Mother in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune films and the fearless Ilsa Faust in the Mission: Impossible series, but on Apple TV+ she takes the lead in another intense story of survival and rebellion. Silo, a sci-fi drama created by Graham Yost, has quietly become one of Apple’s most praised originals — and now, before Season 3 arrives, it’s climbing back up the streaming charts.
Months after the Season 2 finale, Silo has returned to Apple TV+’s top 10, landing at #9 this past week. It’s unusual for a show between seasons and proves how strong the buzz around it has become. Critics agree: Season 1 scored 89% on Rotten Tomatoes, while Season 2 went even higher with 94%.

Based on Hugh Howey’s bestselling trilogy, Silo takes place in a future where people live in giant underground silos, cut off from an outside world believed to be toxic. Ferguson plays Juliette Nichols, an engineer whose search for answers about a colleague’s suspicious death leads her to uncover shocking truths about the silo and what exists beyond its walls.
Season 2 raised the stakes, with Juliette finally seeing the bleak surface and spotting other silos in the distance. The finale left fans with big questions, setting up an intense continuation. Apple TV+ has already planned a full story arc, with Seasons 3 and 4 confirmed. Season 3 has finished filming, and Season 4 will wrap up the saga. Ferguson has hinted the series will stay close to the books’ structure.
I believe that the show has an ending, and I know when that is. So that’s the answer. You will find out when the show is done. To be honest, I don’t think it’s a secret. The books are the books. It’s three books, and the three books are divided into four seasons.
The cast also includes Tim Robbins, Common, Steve Zahn, Harriet Walter, Chinaza Uche, Avi Nash, Alexandria Riley, Shane McRae, Remmie Milner, Billy Postlethwaite, Rick Gomez, Clare Perkins, Caitlin Zoz, Tanya Moodie, and Iain Glen.
Silo Seasons 1 and 2 are now streaming on Apple TV+. Seasons 3 and 4 are currently in production and will premiere soon.
