The first season of Apple TV+’s sci-fi show Silo ended with a huge cliffhanger. The main character, Juliette (played by Rebecca Ferguson), left the underground shelter, and viewers were left wondering what would happen next. After waiting for over a year, fans will soon get to see what happens in Season 2, which is coming out soon!

Since Silo is based on a trilogy of books by author Hugh Howey, you might expect the books to give hints about what happens next. Season 1 only covered half of Howey’s first book, Wool, so there’s still a lot of story left to explore!
The books might give some clues, but the show’s creator, Graham Yost, has said that Season 2 of the TV show is quite different from the books.

They even decided to keep some characters alive who were supposed to die in the story!
In the second half of Hugh’s first book, Juliette goes over to the other silo and meets Solo in a different way, and there’s something big that she has to do this season, something that requires almost superhuman effort, and we’ve changed it up a little bit. Then there’s the other silo where certain characters die in the book but don’t die in the show.
Yost tells SFX magazine in the new issue which features Wicked on the cover and hits newsstands on November 1
Yost says that he and Howey worked together to make these changes, just like they did for Season 1.
We also did gender flips – Walker is a man in the book. But Hugh was with us right from the beginning of the writers’ room, before we even started the first season. He’d be like, ‘Oh, we could kill this person or that person off.’ He was very cavalier about it, and very supportive of the changes we made because he knows we have to give the audience what they want, but we owe it to them to do a different version. We need to give them what they want in a way they don’t expect.
Yost isn’t saying which characters will have different endings, so we’ll have to watch to find out!
