Netflix has dropped a new trailer for Season 2 of “Squid Game,” showing scary new challenges in the colorful and deadly competition.
The second part of the popular Korean thriller, premiering Dec. 26, follows Player 456 (played by Lee Jung-jae), the winner of the first game. He returns to the twisted contest to stop Squid Game and save lives.
He tries to guide the other 455 players inside the game through a dangerous round of Red Light and Green Light. But his warnings are ignored as chaos erupts and bullets fly.
The trailer for Season 2 shows 456 and others fighting the guards and trying to survive dangerous new challenges. Lee returns in Season 2 of “Squid Game” along with Wi Ha-jun, who plays Hwang Jun-ho, and Lee Byung-hun as the mysterious Front Man.

The show’s creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk, also directs and works as an executive producer. Kim Ji-yeon is another executive producer.
It was announced earlier that “Squid Game” will have a third season, which will also be the final one.

The show first came out in 2021 and became Netflix’s most-watched show ever. According to Netflix’s records, it has been watched for more than 2.2 billion hours, which is about 265 million views.
Season 1 was nominated for 17 Emmy Awards and won six. Lee won Best Actor in a Drama, and Lee You-mi won Best Guest Actress in a Drama.
