Sadie Sink is officially suiting up for the Marvel Cinematic Universe! The Stranger Things breakout star has been cast in Spider-Man 4, where she’ll star alongside Tom Holland as the beloved web-slinger.
While Marvel and Sony Pictures have yet to comment, Deadline reports that Sink’s role will be “significant.” Speculation is already swirling that she could be playing Jean Grey, the powerful X-Men mutant previously portrayed by Famke Janssen and Sophie Turner. If true, it would mark a major crossover moment for the MCU.
Plot details for Spider-Man 4 remain tightly under wraps. The last installment, 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, shattered the multiverse, bringing back Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spidey variants in a nostalgic spectacle. The film ended with Holland’s Peter Parker making the heart-wrenching decision to erase his existence from the memories of his love, MJ (Zendaya), and best friend, Ned (Jacob Batalon).

With Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton taking the helm replacing Jon Watts, who directed the first three films the next chapter in Spidey’s saga is already generating massive buzz. Fans won’t have to wait too long, as Spider-Man 4 is set to hit theaters on July 31, 2026.
Sink, 22, has been on a meteoric rise, thanks to her standout role as Max Mayfield on Netflix’s Stranger Things, which recently wrapped filming on its fifth and final season. Beyond Hawkins, she made waves starring in Taylor Swift’s All Too Well: The Short Film and is gearing up for her Broadway debut in John Proctor Is the Villain this April. Up next, she’ll lead Searchlight’s musical O’Dessa, which just premiered at SXSW.
With Sink now swinging into the MCU, fans are eager to see what surprises Spider-Man 4 has in store.
