Rob Lowe found himself in a laugh-out-loud moment of confusion during his latest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live when he accidentally called host Jimmy Kimmel by the wrong name Jimmy Fallon.
The 9-1-1: Lone Star actor, 60, was in the middle of an animated discussion about his Super Bowl allegiances when he made the slip-up.
I am a partisan man, Jimmy Fallon! I am bringing this country together. Did you just call me Jimmy Fallon?
Lowe declared, only for Kimmel, 57, to immediately call him out
Realizing his mistake, a visibly shocked Lowe covered his mouth in embarrassment, while Kimmel teased, “You can’t even pick a Jimmy!” Attempting to smooth things over, Lowe reached for a high-five—only for Kimmel to shut him down. “No, I’m not high-fiving you! Put that hand down!” he quipped.
Lowe then collapsed into his chair, giggling over the blunder, and exclaimed, “Oh my God, help us both.”
Always ready with a punchline, Kimmel handed Lowe a special gift a hat embroidered with the words “talk show” to help him remember where he was next time.
“This is amazing,” Lowe laughed, showing off the hat. “Thank you. That is really good because I like both Jimmys!”
A chuckling Kimmel responded, “And both Jimmys like you.”
Rob Lowe’s History of Hilarious Mix-Ups
This isn’t the first time Lowe has found himself in an awkward name-related situation. During a previous visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live, he shared a story about mistakenly texting Bradley Cooper instead of Robert Downey Jr. after the Golden Globes.
“Downey does this amazing acceptance speech at the Golden Globes, and I’m so excited for him, so I text him, ‘So glad you won. That is the most beautiful acceptance speech I’ve heard in a long time. Boy, do you deserve it,’” Lowe recalled.
The problem? He accidentally sent the message to Cooper, who had lost his category that night.
“Now that’s even worse! I made the guy feel worse!” Lowe said, cringing at the memory.
