Fans really want another Pirates of the Caribbean movie, and talk of a sixth film grew after producer Jerry Bruckheimer and cast members like Orlando Bloom gave hopeful updates — including the possibility of Johnny Depp returning even after his recent controversies. Now another franchise actor, Bill Nighy, who played the villain Davy Jones, has spoken about coming back to his famous role.

Davy Jones was the main threat to Jack Sparrow (Depp), Elizabeth (Keira Knightley), and Will Turner (Bloom) in Dead Man’s Chest and At World’s End, and briefly appeared in the end-credits scene of Dead Men Tell No Tales. Jones is seen as one of the greatest villains in movie history thanks to Nighy’s strong performance and CGI that still looks advanced today. When Screen Rant recently asked him about returning, Nighy said he “would love to go back” and revealed there had actually been talks about him staying in the series:
How would you like to come back? How would you like to come back without the tentacles? Well, yeah, that would be great.

Nighy has had a long and successful career; however, many fans today know him best as Davy Jones or as the Minister of Magic, Rufus Scrimgeour, in the Harry Potter movies.

Now Nighy is returning to the Wizarding World through Audible’s Harry Potter full-cast audiobook, where he will voice the head of Slytherin house and potion master Professor Slughorn.
I was pleased to be asked to play the Professor after having already played a Minister of Magic. Is it possible that I’m the only actor who can claim that achievement? It means that my career continues to have meaning for the next couple of generations. I’m always grateful when asked to play academics having not been further educated myself. I’m hoping to be a significant part of something that will keep children entertained in the car on those long journeys overseas or just on the way to school.
