Macon Blair’s film doesn’t have a release date yet.
Peter Dinklage is really proud of his The Toxic Avenger reboot and just wants more people to see it. The Emmy-winning actor was recently asked if the movie could be widely released soon since it was a big hit after premiering at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, last year.
“No, I’m not a producer on the movie, so I don’t know,” Dinklage told ComicBook.com. “But I really want it to be released because it was a big hit at Fantastic Fest in Austin. Macon Blair, the writer and director, is also in The Thicket. He’s amazing—one of my favorite people and artists.”
The Game of Thrones star added, “I hope it gets its chance to shine in the toxic spotlight.”
The Toxic Avenger is a new take on the 1984 cult classic. The story follows Peter Dinklage’s character, Winston Gooze, a janitor whose boss refuses to pay for his treatment after he gets a terminal illness. After Winston steals from the company, he falls into toxic waste and becomes the Toxic Avenger, a mutant hero who fights to fix the wrongs in society.

The horror-comedy got a 92% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes after its world premiere at Fantastic Fest in September 2023. However, it still doesn’t have a release date.
The reboot also features Jacob Tremblay, Taylour Paige, Elijah Wood, and Kevin Bacon.
Earlier this year, it was announced that Matt Bors and Fred Harper are creating a new The Toxic Avenger comic for AHOY Comics. The first issue of this five-issue series will be released on October 9.
