Fans of Peaky Blinders are heading back to Birmingham this time for a brand-new chapter. Netflix has officially confirmed a sequel series from creator Steven Knight, introducing a new generation of the Shelby family.
Set in the 1950s, the upcoming drama will continue the story after the events of the feature film Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, expanding the world of the iconic crime saga.
Knight shared his excitement, saying: “I’m thrilled to be announcing this new chapter in the Peaky Blinders story… The new generation of Shelbys have taken the wheel, and it will be a hell of a ride.”
A New Era for Birmingham
The sequel takes place in 1953, a time when Birmingham is rebuilding after the devastation of World War II. As the city rises from the ashes of the Birmingham Blitz, a fierce power struggle emerges.
At the center of it all is a brutal race to control the city’s reconstruction turning opportunity into conflict, with the Shelby legacy still deeply embedded in the city’s underworld.
What to Expect From the Sequel?
The new series will span two seasons, each consisting of six episodes. It follows:
- A new generation of Shelbys taking control
- A post-war Birmingham filled with ambition and danger
- A darker, high-stakes battle for power tied to the city’s rebuilding
The original show concluded with Season 6 in 2022, making this continuation a major expansion of the franchise timeline.
