IMAX has exciting news! The movie “Parasite,” directed by Bong Joon-ho, returns to select theaters on February 7. This re-release comes just a month before Bong’s next film, “Mickey 17,” hits theaters on March 7. “Parasite” is famous for making history at the Academy Awards.
It was the first movie to win Best International Feature Film and Best Picture on the same night. It was also nominated in six categories, and Bong Joon-ho won Best Director.
“Parasite” tells the story of Kim Ki-taek, played by Song Kang-ho, a poor man who becomes a driver for a wealthy family.
The movie shows how Kim’s family struggles while the wealthy family enjoys abundance. Tension builds throughout the film, leading to a dramatic climax, and highlighting the harsh realities of class differences. The cast also includes Lee Sun-kyun, Cho Yeo-jeong, and Choi Woo-shik.
