Netflix is set to release the second season of the adult animated show Pantheon worldwide in February 2025. This season was completed but never aired before.
Back in October 2024, it was announced that Netflix would become the new home for Pantheon, with the first season made available on the platform in November 2024. Previously, AMC+ had the rights to the show, releasing the first season exclusively on their service.
However, they canceled the release of season two and even removed the first season from their platform as part of a cost-cutting move. Originally, the series was planned to have 16 episodes, but AMC stopped the release of the second half before it could air.
The voice cast of Pantheon features big names like Paul Dano, Daniel Dae Kim, Katie Chang, Rosemarie DeWitt, Aaron Eckhart, and Taylor Schilling. The first season earned high praise, with a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and an 8.4/10 on IMDb. The story focuses on two troubled teens who uncover their connection to Uploaded Intelligence, a groundbreaking but risky technology that has serious human consequences.

The second season, with eight episodes, will premiere globally on Netflix on February 21, 2025. This will be the first time fans worldwide can officially watch the show. Previously, the second season was only available on Prime Video in Australia and New Zealand when it aired in October 2023. Viewers in other regions had to rely on less legal ways to catch up on the show.
Season 2 follows Maddie, a teen who faces bullying at school. She finds comfort and support from someone online—her dad, David, who had passed away. His mind was uploaded to the cloud through an experimental brain scan. But Maddie soon discovers he’s not the only one living in this digital world.
Season 2 of Pantheon introduced new cast members, including Rosa Salazar, Thomasin McKenzie, Tisha Campbell, Lara Pulver, Navid Negahban, and Mark Ivanir. Even Neil deGrasse Tyson made a special appearance, lending his voice to the CDC director.

The second season had multiple directors, such as Dwooman Juno Lee, Mel Zwyer, Ed Tadem, Mari Yang, and Jae Hong Kim, contributing to its creative vision.
Over the past year, Netflix has added several AMC shows to its library, though most have only been available in the US. Popular titles like The Walking Dead spinoffs, Interview with the Vampire, and Preacher are now part of Netflix’s lineup, thanks to short-term licensing deals. You can explore AMC shows on Netflix using the category code 81921061.
But what about a third season of Pantheon? Don’t hold your breath. Netflix has been licensing many shows in recent years, which explains how it managed to release over 10,000 TV episodes last year alone. However, this doesn’t guarantee that Pantheon will continue beyond season 2.
