What If…? just introduced the Fist of Khonshu as a new hero and even brought back a familiar voice for the role.
According to Comicbook, Brad Winderbaum from Marvel Animation shared at a D23 panel that Isaac Oscar Will Return as Moon Knight in What If…? Season 3, First Look Revealed will return to voice Moon Knight and his other identities, Marc Spector and Steven Grant, in the third and final season of What If…? It’s unclear how often Moon Knight will appear, but one episode will feature him teaming up with Sam Wilson’s Captain America and Monica Rambeau to face gamma monsters. Other heroes like Shang-Chi and Ironheart are also confirmed, but whether Simu Liu and Dominique Thorne will return to voice their characters is unknown.
After season 2 wrapped up last year, fans got their first glimpse of What If…? season 3, which shows Bucky Barnes and Red Guardian in a wild car chase with American police. Unlike season 1, season 2 episodes were released one day at a time, featuring new multiverse versions of Marvel Cinematic Universe characters.

The Watcher (voiced by Jeffrey Wright) returns to narrate these stories, and the show introduces an original Indigenous hero named Kahhori. In a January interview, director Bryan Andrews hinted that season 3 might be released later this year, though he admitted it could be a tight schedule. He mentioned that others are in charge of deciding release dates, and he’s unsure when season 3 will drop. However, A.C. Bradley won’t return as head writer for season 3, even though she wrote the Bucky and Red Guardian episode.
Will Moon Knight Get a Second Season?
Although the finale of Moon Knight hinted at a possible continuation, a second season hasn’t been officially approved yet. This series was Isaac oscar’s second Marvel role, following his portrayal of the villain Apocalypse in X-Men: Apocalypse. He also voiced Miguel O’Hara/Spider-Man 2099 in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The sequel, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, was delayed by the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, but according to Isaac oscar’s co-star Karan Soni, the film is now back in production.

What If…? is one of several animated shows released by Disney’s Marvel Studios Animation, including the Emmy-nominated X-Men ’97, which continues the classic X-Men: The Animated Series. Upcoming projects include the Black Panther series Eyes of Wakanda, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, and the What If…? spinoff Marvel Zombies. All three shows were highlighted at D23. Hudson Thames, who voiced Spider-Man in What If…?’s zombie episode, will return for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, while Iman Vellani, who plays Ms. Marvel, is the only confirmed actor for Marvel Zombies so far. She described this version of Kamala Khan as “the Frodo of the story.“
