Nosferatu recently made its way to digital platforms after just a few weeks in theaters, surprising many since it did so well during its opening and the weeks that followed. As of now, the film has earned $93 million in the U.S. and $73 million internationally, bringing its total worldwide earnings to $166 million.
This $93 million in the U.S. has helped Nosferatu become one of the top 30 highest-grossing remakes, sitting at #29, ahead of Father of the Bride (1991) but still behind The Magnificent Seven (2016) and The Mask of Zorro (1998). The horror film directed by Robert Eggers earned $1.9 million in its fifth weekend, landing at #13 in theaters.
Since its release on Christmas Day, Nosferatu has landed on several impressive box office lists. It’s now one of the top 25 highest-grossing movies of 2024 in the U.S., ranking at #25 after passing The Fall Guy, but still trailing behind Bob Marley: One Love.

The film has also become one of the 75 highest-earning fantasy films ever, with its $93 million putting it ahead of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and The Scorpion King, though it’s still not quite reaching Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves or The Nightmare Before Christmas. While Nosferatu is working its way up digital charts, it still lags behind new releases like Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Moana 2.
Lily-Rose Depp plays the lead role of Ellen Hutter in Nosferatu, while Bill Skarsgård stars as the famous Count Orlok. The full design of Count Orlok was recently revealed after the film’s digital release. Nicholas Hoult and Aaron Taylor-Johnson also star in the movie as Thomas Hutter and Friedrich Harding. Willem Dafoe, a regular collaborator with director Robert Eggers, plays Professor Albin Eberhart von Franz. Emma Corrin, known for her role as the villain in Deadpool & Wolverine, also stars in Nosferatu as Anna Harding, with Ralph Ineson playing Dr. Wilhelm Sievers.
Nosferatu is still showing in many theaters and is available to rent or buy on digital platforms like Prime Video and Apple TV+.
