TV legend Noel Edmonds found himself holding back tears as he looked back on the past six years spent in New Zealand with his wife, Liz Davies. After appearing on I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!, Noel stepped away from his long-running TV career to start a new chapter on the other side of the world. He now shares a glimpse of that life in the new ITV documentary series Noel Edmonds’ Kiwi Adventure.
In the show, viewers watch the couple transform their 800-acre estate as they work on launching their hospitality business, River Haven. During a heartfelt moment, the 76-year-old grew emotional about the journey. While speaking with Liz, he asked:
Do you feel like this is home? I kind of almost felt it was home as soon as we came here on holiday, actually.
Liz replied:
It was meant to be, undoubtedly it was meant to be.
The presenter then became emotional as he added:
In this touching moment, the couple took a break from their expansive estate and boarded a short helicopter ride to the mountains, where they had a raw and honest conversation.

Noel continued: “And it’s a very hard person, a very cold person who doesn’t feel emotional and grateful. And it does make me feel quite …” Unable to finish his sentence, the TV star let out a deep, audible sigh as he tried to hold back tears. After a short pause, he turned to his wife and said: “We did all right dear, we did good,” bringing an emotional close to his first episode back on ITV.
Throughout the episode, the former Deal or No Deal host embraced his calm and peaceful lifestyle, far from the hectic world of showbiz and television, as he shared: “I feel very at peace here, excited by it.”
It was not easy moving across the planet, it really wasn’t. But we were bold to do it, the purpose of life is to give life purpose.
Noel also confessed:
The presenter went on to express his hopes for the documentary series, revealing that he wants it to change the way some people view him.
Maybe people who have had negative thoughts about me personally will see this and see an honesty, a sincerity, a commitment, a positivity, and maybe a few of them will change their views even.
In the upcoming episode, viewers will continue to follow Noel, Liz, and their team as they develop River Haven — a £15m estate featuring a winery, shop, restaurant, pub, and café.
