Nikki Glaser dazzled audiences as she took the stage to host the 82nd Annual Golden Globes on Sunday night, delivering a seamless blend of sharp wit and good-natured ribbing that left both attendees and viewers thoroughly entertained. Known for her biting humor, the comedian managed to walk the fine line between roasting Hollywood and celebrating its achievements a balance that has tripped up previous hosts.
The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with Glaser confidently claiming her spot as one of the most memorable Golden Globes hosts in recent years. However, even with her resounding success, Glaser’s perfectionist streak left her mulling over a small misstep the next morning.
Speaking to Howard Stern on his show, Glaser revealed a joke about Ben Affleck that she felt could have landed better. Onstage, she quipped:
“Wicked, Queer, Nightbitch—these are not just words Ben Affleck yells after he orgasms. These are some of the incredible movies nominated tonight.”
But as Glaser told Stern, she accidentally fumbled the phrasing.
“It was supposed to be ‘when he orgasms,’ and I said ‘after,’ and it really bugged me… It still works. It’s just less clear. It’s 2 percent more funny [the other way],” she said, adding, “They don’t know how much more they would have liked it.”

Celebrity Reactions: Harrison Ford’s Unexpected Advice
The hosting gig wasn’t without its challenges. Glaser shared that backstage, Harrison Ford offered her some reassuring words.
He did kind of catch me, and he walks over and he was like, ‘This is such a tough gig, you did such a great job, There are not speakers in the crowd. If you don’t get the reaction you want, we can’t hear you.’
Glaser recounted. Ford also pointed out a potential technical issue, saying
Glaser laughed off the suggestion that this might just be a “Harrison Ford issue” but appreciated his kind words and advice:
“Next year, ask for more money.”
Pay Gap Spotlight
The topic of pay came up during Glaser’s chat with Stern, where she confirmed she earned less than Jerrod Carmichael’s reported $500,000 from the previous year.
I got less than that,, I honestly would have done it for free, it’s such an insane platform… [But] next time I’ll ask for more money.
Glaser admitted,
The disparity highlights an ongoing issue in Hollywood, where women and people of color frequently earn less than their white male counterparts for the same work. Glaser remained optimistic about renegotiating in the future, saying, “I’ll get more next year.”
Jokes Too Hot for TV
While Glaser brought her trademark humor to the Globes, some jokes didn’t make it past her team’s filter.
“Whenever I came across something edgier, I’d go, ‘Move it to the Stern file. We can do it on Stern,’” she explained.
One scrapped line targeted the podcasting world, with Glaser joking:
“The Golden Globes is the only show where you can see the biggest stars in movies and television join together with the same goal: getting out of here before Dax Shepard asks them to do his podcast.”
Another cut joke honed in on Hollywood beauty standards, calling the ceremony, “Ozempic’s biggest night.”
Looking Ahead
Despite minor regrets and some cut material, Glaser expressed confidence that she’d be asked to host again.
I can’t imagine they wouldn’t [want me back]. It’s hard to find people to do these shows… [But] I would never be able to live with myself if I turned it down because I’m scared of bombing.
With glowing reviews and a growing fanbase, it seems Nikki Glaser has cemented her place as a must-watch awards host if not for her biting humor, then for her relentless pursuit of perfection.
