Netflix has focused on one Bridgerton sibling per season so far. Season four will likely tell the story of either Francesa (played by Hannah Dodd), Benedict (played by Luke Thompson), or Eloise (played by Claudia Jessie).
The fifth book in Julia Quinn’s series, “To Sir Phillip With Love,” focuses on Eloise, who is best friends with Penelope Featherington, played by Coughlan.

Penelope is mentioned in the book a few times, but her role becomes less important as the focus shifts to another sibling in the series.
Bookies are already taking bets that Coughlan might leave the show when that happens, similar to how actor Regé-Jean Page left after starring in the first season.
James Leyfield from Casinos.com said, “Penelope is mentioned a few times in the fifth book, but not as much as in Julia’s first Bridgerton book, ‘The Duke and I,’ and the second one, ‘An Offer from a Gentleman,’ where Penelope had more coverage.”
Therefore, Penelope might finish her time on Bridgerton after season four. Nicola has odds of 6/4 to be in just one more season of the show.
The chances of Coughlan appearing in the fifth season are currently 2/1, and for the sixth season, they’re 4/1. Netflix has only confirmed season four so far, but it’s likely to continue as long as it stays popular.
No need to worry just yet. Season four will start filming later this year, but fans might have to wait up to two years for it to come out.
