Filming for the new series of TV drama Beyond Paradise is now happening in more places. The show, set in the made-up Devon town of Shipton Abbott, is being made for its fourth series, the BBC has confirmed.
Film crews will return to Looe and Pentillie Castle in South East Cornwall, which have already been key parts of the story of Detective Inspector Humphrey Goodman – played by Kris Marshall – and his police team. But the producers have also added new locations for series four, including sites in Launceston, Saltash, and Tavistock.
We see this as a positive opportunity for Saltash, showcasing our town to a wider audience and supporting the creative industries.
A spokesperson said
The Saltash Social Club on Fore Street has announced it will close on 11 August so it can be used for filming.
Production teams have also been spotted at the West Devon Club on Abbey Place in Tavistock. Crews will be filming in Looe, which plays the role of the fictional Shipton Abbott, during a busy tourist season in the seaside town.

One of the locations is the Sardine Factory restaurant, which the programme makers turn into the drama’s “Ten Mile Kitchen.”
After the third series was filmed, Ben Palmer, chef and owner of the Sardine Factory, said the publicity had a very positive impact on the town.
Beyond Paradise has had a very positive impact on the town. People are visiting us more here, which is great.
He said
Series four of Beyond Paradise will keep telling the personal story of Humphrey and his partner Martha, while also following Detective Inspector Goodman and his team as they investigate a range of unusual crimes.

We’re back in Shipton Abbott. Filming has begun this week on the brand-new series of #BeyondParadise. Expect plenty of puzzling twists and turns as the team gear up for another series full of mystery, humour, and heart on the sunny shores of Devon and Cornwall.
The release date for the new series has not been announced yet.
