The 32-year-old actor, who plays the Fifteenth Doctor in the BBC sci-fi series, will announce the UK’s National Jury results live during Eurovision’s Grand Final on Saturday, 17th May 2025. He joins a list of past spokespeople including Joanna Lumley, Nigella Lawson, and fellow Doctor Who alum Catherine Tate.
In addition to the Grand Final, the BBC has more Eurovision fun lined up for May 17th, including a special themed episode of Doctor Who titled The Interstellar Song Contest.
Ncuti Gatwa’s character, The Doctor, and Belinda Chandra (Varada Sethu) will journey to the 803rd Interstellar Song Contest, co-hosted by Rylan Clark, where planets from all over the universe compete for the top prize.
Eurovision Song Contest host Graham Norton will also make a cameo in this special sixth episode of the current season. After The Interstellar Song Contest, Eurovision’s Grand Final will air at 8pm on BBC One, featuring a performance by the UK act Remember Monday.
Sex Education star Ncuti recently predicted a big future for Rylan in acting after working with him on Doctor Who’s Eurovision special. He told The Big Issue magazine:
I acted with Rylan Clark. I never thought I would ever do that! Rylan was really good as well. If he decides to do more acting, I can see it panning out well for him.
I was so impressed, and he brought such an amazing energy to the set. We all felt a bit of a void after he left.
Catch Ncuti as he announces the UK National Jury results live during the Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final, Saturday 17th May at 8pm (BST) on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
