Marvel Studios is reportedly working on a second season of Moon Knight, and new rumors hint that they plan to include an important villain from the Marvel Comics in season 2!
It’s been two years since Moon Knight premiered on Disney+, and after what feels like a long wait, it looks like Marvel Studios is finally working on a second season of the hit series starring Oscar Isaac.
Although Marvel Studios hasn’t officially confirmed anything, Marvel insider Daniel RPK and others are reporting that a second season of Moon Knight is in the works. If Marvel renews Moon Knight, it will be only the second live-action Disney+ Marvel show to get a second season. There are also rumors that a second season of Ms. Marvel might be considered, so the list could grow soon.
Moon Knight’s first season definitely hinted at a second season, ending with the introduction of Steven Grant’s third alter-ego, Jake Lockley, who was shown working with Khonshu in the final scene.

That post-credit moment suggested there was more story to explore, especially with the mysterious Jake, who had been hinted at throughout the season with comments about Steven losing time and Marc insisting it wasn’t his fault.
With Jake now appearing to be Khonshu’s new avatar, the story could go in any direction. Since Harrow was killed off at the end of the first season, it looks like the show will introduce a new villain in season 2—and it seems Marvel might have found the perfect one for the job.
Moon Knight Season 2 Villain Rumored to Be Bushman
When rumors about Moon Knight season 2 first surfaced, many fans expected Moon Knight to face off against Rama-Tut, especially since he was teased in the post-credit scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. It seemed like a perfect way to connect to the larger MCU storyline with Kang.
However, after Jonathan Majors’ departure, Marvel Studios decided to move away from Kang as a villain. Now, it seems they plan to make Bushman the main villain for season 2 instead.
Although Bushman appeared in Luke Cage, he has a deeper connection to Moon Knight and plays a key role in his origin story in the comics. Initially, Bushman and Marc Spector are allies, but when Bushman goes on a violent killing spree, Marc turns against him. Bushman nearly kills Marc and leaves him for dead in the desert. This leads Marc to meet Khonshu and become his avatar.
After becoming Moon Knight, Marc Spector makes it his goal to take down Bushman, leading to a series of battles between them. One storyline takes them both to New York, which is interesting because there are rumors that Moon Knight season 2 might be set in NYC instead of Egypt.

In the comics, Bushman goes to New York and runs a drug and gambling ring in Harlem. Moon Knight tracks him down, leading to a new fight where Bushman steals and destroys the Statue of Khonshu, which Marc believed was the source of his power.
If season 2 does move to New York, having Bushman as the main villain makes sense. However, the show might need to adjust the story since Bushman wasn’t part of the origin story in season 1.
We’ll have to wait for Marvel to officially confirm it, but it looks like everything is coming together for Moon Knight season 2 to become a reality soon!
