Apple TV has shared a new image from Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2, giving fans their first look. They also confirmed that filming for the season is still in progress.
The new picture, titled “Greetings from Skull Island,” is pretty mysterious. It shows a damaged Monarch base with trucks around it that have the Apex Cybernetics logo.
The show continues from the 2014 Godzilla movie and the aftermath of the San Francisco battle. It tells two stories: one in the present day about two half-siblings trying to learn about their missing dad’s link to Monarch, and another from 70 years ago showing how Monarch was created. And, of course, there’s lots of action with Titans!
The first season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters featured actors like Anna Sawai from Shogun, John Goodman, Kurt Russell, and Wyatt Russell. For Season 2, Amber Midthunder from Prey has joined the cast. Season 1 came out in November 2023 and got great reviews.
The latest Monsterverse movie, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, came out this year. It stars Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, and Dan Stevens. In the film, Godzilla and Kong team up to face a shared enemy. A sequel is already in the works and is planned to release in 2027.
