Mickey 17 has been moved around on Warner Bros.’ release schedule, but the good news is it’s coming out sooner than expected. According to Deadline, the movie, directed by Bong Joon-Ho, will now hit theaters on March 7, 2025, a month earlier than planned.
The original release date of April 18, 2025, is now being used for Sinners, a horror film directed by Ryan Coogler. Mickey 17 has faced delays in the past as Warner Bros. adjusts its schedule for the next few years. The movie will now compete at the box office with Snow White.
Mickey 17 brings Edward Ashton’s novel to the big screen, featuring Robert Pattinson as the main character, Mickey. In the story, Mickey signs up to be “expendable,” meaning when he dies due to his dangerous job, a new body is created for him.
The story takes a twist when one of Mickey’s replacements doesn’t die before the next one arrives. Now, two Mickeys have to figure out how to deal with the fact that they are both the same person.

Bong Joon-Ho, who won worldwide fame with Parasite, is ready to wow audiences again with his first film since that big win. He also wrote the screenplay for Mickey 17, turning Ashton’s story into a movie. The cast includes Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, and Toni Collette. Yeun is set to return as Mark Grayson in the third season of Invincible, while Collette was recently seen in Juror #2, Clint Eastwood’s reportedly final film.
In Mickey 17, Robert Pattinson will have a lot of fun playing different versions of the same character. The actor is also gearing up to return as Batman in The Batman: Part II, the sequel directed by Matt Reeves, which Warner Bros. recently announced will be delayed.
Apart from that, Pattinson will star in Die, My Love, a horror comedy written and directed by Lynne Ramsay, alongside Jennifer Lawrence and LaKeith Stanfield.
Mickey 17 is now set to release in theaters on March 7, 2025. You can also stream Bong Joon-ho’s previous film, Parasite, on Max.
