Hwang Dong-hyuk thinks Tony Stark would win in a Squid Game competition. At Netflix’s Season 2 premiere in Los Angeles on Thursday, Dec. 12, the show’s director told PEOPLE which well-known character he believes could survive the deadly challenges.
“Iron Man without his suit,” Hwang says, talking about Tony Stark, the main hero played by Robert Downey Jr. in Marvel’s Infinity Saga.
Hwang thinks Tony Stark, known as one of the smartest characters in the Marvel movies, would have the best chance of winning Squid Game—even without his high-tech suit.

In the first season of Squid Game, Seong Gi-hun, played by Lee Jung-jae, tried to win a dangerous competition made up of deadly versions of children’s games. Out of the 456 people who joined the game, Seong was one of the only two to survive.
The games in Season 1 included tug of war, marbles, hopscotch, honeycomb carving, and red light, green light. Hwang says Season 2 will have some new games.
I still had a few games left from the ideas I came up with for Season 1, So creating new games for Season 2 wasn’t as difficult.
he explains

Hwang says he would do best at the honeycomb challenge. As a kid, he remembers using the same trick Seong did in Season 1—licking the honeycomb to make it easier to remove the shape.

They gave us a nomination before it even premiered, It was such a big surprise and a huge compliment. I’m so happy—it’s hard to imagine being happier!
