After decades of rivalry, Marvel and DC are officially joining forces once more! Fans have long dreamed of another showdown between the biggest superheroes in comic book history, and now it’s finally happening. According to Bleeding Cool News, Marvel and DC Comics are launching a brand-new crossover event, revealed at ComicsPRO in Glendale, California by DC Comics Editor-in-Chief Marie Javins and Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief CB Cebulski.
The two publishing giants, who last united for a major crossover over 20 years ago, will roll out two one-shot issues—Marvel/DC and DC/Marvel—set to release in 2025.
How the Marvel vs. DC Crossover Came to Life
The idea started taking shape after the successful reprint of the 1996 DC vs. Marvel series in a special omnibus last year. During his keynote speech at ComicsPRO, Cebulski hinted at something bigger:
We really enjoyed working together. This was a really good project to have done, but I think there’s another white whale that we got.
