Fan interactions are normal for a star like Leonardo DiCaprio, the onetime heartthrob who is now a permanent Hollywood A-lister, but some are more confusing than others.
Even though the Oscar winner is close to his fourth decade in Hollywood, Variety recently asked him and “One Battle After Another” costar Benicio del Toro which of their movies connect with younger viewers — especially those used to YouTube and TikTok who might not remember the days of waiting in line for “Titanic” tickets. One movie, DiCaprio said, seems to click with pre-teen kids. It doesn’t make him feel the best.
We’ve probably both done a lot of R-rated stuff, so it depends on what age you’re talking about. Some little kids come up to me and go, ‘I loved Wolf of Wall Street.’ Like, you saw that? How old are you?

Released in 2013 and directed by frequent DiCaprio partner Martin Scorsese, “Wolf of Wall Street” is one of the wildest films the actor has ever made. Quaalude-fueled paralysis, sinking yachts, orgies, danger to kids and property, Jonah Hill’s fake penis, police shootouts and more fill the movie. It introduced Margot Robbie, made over $400 million worldwide and got five Academy Award nominations.

I saw a lot of R-rated movies when I was young.
While DiCaprio isn’t sure how to talk to young fans about crimes and heavy drug use, he admits
Next, American kids will see “One Battle After Another,” Paul Thomas Anderson’s big revolutionary epic, which opens in theaters Friday.
