Leah McSweeney, known for her time on “Real Housewives of New York“ and “Ultimate Girls Trip,“ is moving forward with her lawsuit against Andy Cohen, Bravo, and others involved in the production of the “Real Housewives” shows.

Leah McSweeney says that the “Real Housewives” producers made her relapse to increase the show’s ratings. Her lawsuit is necessary because it’s set to be argued openly in court — something that hasn’t happened before with a cast member’s case against the network.
Nene Leakes from “Real Housewives of Atlanta” also sued the network, but her case never reached court. Caroline Manzo from “Real Housewives of New Jersey“ also has a legal case in progress.
Former “Real Housewives of New York City” star McSweeney claims in her lawsuit that the show achieved its highest ratings when one of its stars seemed confused, irrational, and disconnected from reality.
McSweeney’s lawyers argue that the producers knew she was struggling with alcohol addiction and mental health issues when she joined the show.
They saw this as a chance to boost ratings by pushing her until she lost control. According to her, they succeeded in getting her to drink the first time, but she resisted their second attempt.

McSweeney, who was on two seasons of “RHONY” and one season of “RHUGT,” also claimed in the lawsuit that Cohen did cocaine with some “Housewives” stars, though he has vehemently denied these claims.
She is suing Cohen, Bravo, Shed Media (the producer of “RHONY” and “RHUGT”), Warner Bros., which owns Shed, and several individual producers.
Cohen, Bravo, and the others have requested to dismiss the lawsuit.

Last month, we reported that the judge allowed McSweeney’s attorney to search the defendants files and private devices for evidence while the motion is being appealed.
Bravo did not respond to our request for comment.
