The Oscar and Grammy-winning Lady Gaga will join the cast in the next season of Wednesday, which is currently being filmed.
After Lady Gaga’s 2011 song “Bloody Mary” went viral when Wednesday fans paired it with Jenna Ortega’s dance scene from the Netflix series, a source told Entertainment Weekly that Gaga will be joining season 2 in a new role. Details about her character and how big the role is are still a secret, but Gaga is currently filming in Europe for the show.
Entertainment Weekly has contacted Gaga’s and Netflix’s teams to get more information.

Jenna Ortega started the Addams Family-inspired series Wednesday on Netflix in 2022. The show quickly became popular as it followed Wednesday Addams through her school years, exploring her life as a student and young psychic.
Gwendoline Christie, Luis Guzmán, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Christina Ricci, who starred in the 1991 Addams Family movie, also appear in the show. Wednesday’s second season will be released soon.
At the Golden Globes in January 2023, Jenna Ortega shared that she hoped Lady Gaga would join season 2 and even came up with an idea for a storyline for her.
I’m sure Netflix would love that, I think Mrs. Thornhill and Wednesday had this strange mentor relationship and understood each other in a unique way. So, if Lady Gaga joined, I think it would be two monsters who really get each other.
Ortega told Variety at the time.
Besides Gaga’s movie roles in A Star Is Born, House of Gucci, and this year’s Joker: Folie à Deux, Lady Gaga also worked on TV in season 5 of American Horror Story, where she won a Golden Globe.

Gaga is also currently working on her seventh solo album, set to release in February 2025. The album’s first single, “Disease,” came out in October. After receiving two Grammy nominations for her song “Die With a Smile” with Bruno Mars earlier this month, Gaga released a live version of “Disease,” called “The Antidote” edition, along with an instrumental version of the song.

A month earlier, Gaga told a magazine that her current projects were helping her face the pain from her early fame, especially with her Joker album Harlequin.
Playing a troubled character for most of my career helped me distance myself from who I truly am, but it’s all a part of me, that song reflects how, if I ever found joy or happiness, it might feel like an accident. For a long time, I was on a path that wasn’t really leading anywhere because I was so disconnected from reality. My loyal fans know that playing a character came with a cost, and it has a cost for Lee and her love for Joker. I address this in my new album.
